A Weekend of Disney, Airplanes and Trick or Treating

DISNEY ON ICE

After Lauren and I got back from our vacation to Illinois and Missouri, Chad and I took her to see Disney on Ice, on October 25th, at the Patriot Center.  Lauren remained in her seat the entire time, ate a ton of buttered popcorn, and enjoyed every minute of the show.  It was fun to watch her interact with the characters, and I thought it was a wonderful show.  The only time she got upset was when she realized it was actually over.  She burst into tears and refused to get out of her chair.  Chad and I patiently explained that it was getting late and the characters needed to go to bed.  That seemed to appease her and she walked out of the arena a much happier girl.

 HALLOWEEN

That Saturday, the 26th, our neighborhood was holding its annual Halloween Parade.  So we dressed Lauren up and headed down to participate.  The Bear is currently very interested in all things Princess, Doc McStuffins, The Little Einsteins and anything to do with airplanes.  I knew there would be a ton of princesses and Disney characters running around for Halloween this year and we wanted to do something a little different.  So we went with the airplane route.  This year, Lauren dressed up as an Air Force pilot, complete with a flight suit, patches and a hat.  It was perfect and she looked adorable!!

After a quick group shot and a march around the neighborhood, Chad, Lauren and I headed to the Air & Space museum for some trick or treating.  It was pretty cool and we will definitely do that again!!

PUMPKIN CARVING

On Sunday, the 27th, Chad, Lauren and I gathered in the dining room for a pumpkin carving session.  And once again, the Bear was grossed out by the inside goop and refused to touch it.  I cannot wait for the day when she will help me clean out these pumpkins.

Chad and I did all of the carving...I did a mummy and he did a cat.  But the big hit this year, was a pumpkin carriage that Chad created for Lauren's Cinderella doll.  She LOVED it!!

On Halloween, we lit the pumpkins, got Lauren in her costume and headed out into the neighborhood for some more trick or treating.  Chad stayed behind to hand out candy, but I was lucky enough to get to watch the Bear have another Halloween experience.

She was very excited to give it a go, and bravely walked up to the different houses (of course, I was right next to her the whole time).  She loudly yelled "Trick Treat" and held out her little pumpkin bucket.  I am proud to say that she always said "Tank You" and would follow it up with a "Happy Ween".  Everyone got a kick out of her costume and she enjoyed watching all of the other kids run around with their loot.

We only went to 8 houses, which is not very far in a townhouse community, but that was the perfect distance for her little legs.  When we got home, she dumped all of her candy on the coffee table and began to eagerly look through it.  There was a lot of good chocolate candy bars, but her first instinct was to go for the popcorn.  She truly cracks me up!!

This was a great Halloween!  Lauren still loves to wear her costume and luckily it is big enough, so she will be able to enjoy it for quite a while.  I cannot believe this is our third Halloween with the Bear.  Boy is it different, and more fun, when there are children involved.  I am already excited for and planning our next Halloween, where we will have to figure out not one, but two costumes.  Hmmmmmmmmmm.
