3rd Times A Charm At Potty Training

We are now on our 3rd attempt at potty training Lauren.  She really got the hang of it during the first attempt, but we all got distracted with the holidays and were not consistent enough to keep it up.  She did even better during the second attempt.  Unfortunately, Charlie arrived and Lauren began having more and more accidents.  With a newborn in the house, it was easier to go back to Pull-ups.

Now that Charlie is on somewhat of a schedule, we are mostly unpacked from our big move, and things are starting to feel like normal, I decided it was time to try again.  Lauren was resistant at first, but we have found the one thing to motivate her....Octonauts!!  

For those of you who are not familiar with the Octonauts, they are cartoon characters on the Disney Channel.  Basically they are different animals, who live underwater in an Octopod, and go on adventures with different sea creatures.  Lauren is obsessed and we recently discovered that they sell the characters.  

So Lauren can earn the different characters with long periods of successful trips to the potty.  And once she has earned all of the characters (she still has 3 more to go), the next thing to earn is the big Octopod toy.  She is very motivated to earn that toy, and she understands that she has to have a LONG accident free period before she can get it.  I am hoping that Santa will be able to bring her the Octopod, but it all comes down to how well Lauren does with the training.  Let's hope that the third time is a charm!!
