It was so much fun to watch all of the kids participating, singing, and dancing. Lauren did not know any of the kids, other than Sophie and Emily, so it was touch and go for a few minutes, when the kids had to partner off, and Lauren had a hard time finding a partner. I offered to be her partner and she grudgingly sat next to me with tears in her eyes. But thankfully, another girl was without a partner and the two paired up nicely. It is so hard to step back and let them navigate the world on their own, but worthwhile to see them overcome an obstacle. Once Lauren had a partner, she gained a little more confidence, and had a blast. And Charlie enjoyed the food/cake and the rocking horse!
We all had a lot of fun celebrating Sophie's birthday. =)
