Halloween 2015!!

This year, I figured both kids were small enough that I could pick out their costumes one more time.  I really wanted to do an Inspector Gadget theme, where Lauren was Penny, Chad was Gadget, and Charlie was Brain.

But Lauren had other ideas.  She immediately decided that she was going to be a police officer and never changed her mind.  I was able to get on board with that costume, because it wasn't the typical girl costume, mainly princesses.

The funny thing is that Lauren also picked out Charlie's costume.  If she was going to be a police officer, he was going to be a "Bad Guy"!  And ironically, she had no idea how accurate these costume ideas were for each of them.  Lauren is our little rule follower.  If there is a rule, she is going to follow it and she will enforce it with everyone around her.  Even grownups.  As for Charlie, he certainly is not a bad kid, but he likes to push the rules and is very mischievous.

So police officer and bad guy it was!!!!!

Mee-maw and Grandpa were here for Halloween.  They had just come back from a trip to Nashville and decided to hang out for the trick-or-treating.  Lauren even insisted that they take her around the neighborhood while mommy and daddy handed out candy.  They walked to quite a few houses and this year, and Lauren was much more brave.

The next day, our neighborhood had it's annual Halloween Festival.  I met up with some friends, for brunch, in Annapolis, and was late getting back to the celebration.  But Chad, Mee-maw, and Grandpa took the kids over for the parade, through the neighborhood, and the other fun.  There was a bouncy house, pony rides, a small train, ice cream, a photo booth, and a petting zoo.  The kids had a blast!  Lauren enjoyed all of it and Charlie loved the train.  We had to tear him away from it on multiple occasions.

It was quite a fun Halloween.  Our neighborhood is the perfect place to enjoy the holiday.  Everyone has fun for trick-or-treating, and the festival is wonderful for all of the families.  I am already looking forward to next year, and to seeing what costumes Lauren picks out!!
