Grandpa/Grumpa Birthday Celebration

The first weekend of September, everyone came to Gainesville, to celebrate some birthdays, watch some Terps football, and just hang out.

Grandpa's birthday is August 29th, Grumpa's birthday is September 1st, and Uncle Ryan's birthday is September 10th.  There are a lot of big days to celebrate this time of year.

On Saturday, we decided to hang out at the King Charles Bar and watch the Terps/Texas football game.  We put out a big spread and prepared ourselves for a proper butt kicking.  Imagine our surprise and insane anxiety when the Terps actually beat Texas!!  What?!?!  That was certainly a good start to the weekend!

The next day, Sunday, Aunt Sarah and I surprised Grandpa with his birthday present...indoor skydiving.  We did not tell him where we were headed.  He just got in the car and we drove to the facility.  He was very excited when he realized what we were doing.

We got into our gear, took a short class on what to do, and off we went.  Aunt Sarah went first and did a great job.   Granda went last and did a great job as well.  When I went, I made the mistake of opening my mouth to breath (my nose was all stuffed up).  Once I opened my mouth, my lip flew up, from the intense wind, and I couldn't get it back down.  I started to laugh and that made it even worse!  =)    Mee-maw, Lauren, and Quinnie came along to cheer us on, and they all had a great laugh at my expense.

It was a fun experience and I would definitely do it again.  Especially since I now have some ideas for what to do differently next time.

On Monday, Uncle Ryan came over and we had a BBQ

We always love having our friends and family over to the house.  This was a great weekend for many reasons, and I can't wait to see what the fall brings for our family!!
