Lauren's 2nd Year of Ice Hockey!!

Lauren loved her first year of ice hockey so much, that she asked us to sign her up for another year of mini mites.  Chad did not argue with her and happily got her registered.

It had been a few months since she last played hockey, so she and Chad dusted off their sticks and headed out to the driveway to practice.  Those driveway hockey sessions quickly got competitive and lasted well past the sun set.  We had to drag her back into the house, and we were all looking forward to when she could get back on the ice.

In September, the mini mites were back on the ice.  Chad helped out coaching again this season and Lauren psyched herself up by watching "The Mighty Ducks".  It worked, because she was much more aggressive this season.  She worked hard and made it on to the practice group with her buddies from last year.  She still loves to play and we still love to watch her.

Lauren is so interested in hockey this year, that she has also begun watching some of the Washington Caps games with Chad.  We love watching her discover this team.  She has begun paying attention to specific players (Ovechkin, Backstrom, and Holtby) and we love to point out certain skills the players exhibit while playing.  Lauren has a hard time keeping 2 hands on her stick, so she has been watching to see how the pros do it!

This season is going to be so much fun.  Lauren is playing so well, and we have a few out of town tournaments scheduled.  Ice Hockey is such a fun sport and I hope Lauren continues to enjoy it as much as Chad and I do.
