The same day of Lauren's first field trip, we also made plans to head to Annapolis, for dinner, to see the Shafers, the Levys, and some of our other friends. With everyone living further apart these days, we usually try to get together on New Year's Eve. But this year, many of us have different plans and we will not be able to get everyone in the same place. So, since the Levys were making a quick trip East, we decided to celebrate earlier.
We all met up at the Shafer's house. Grammy and Grumpa were able to join us, and happily got to meet the Levy kids for the first time.
It was fun watching the kids play and interact with each other. Lauren and Ella immediately began playing. Matthew and his cousin Will took a little longer to join in the fun with the girls, but soon they were all running around the front yard. Charlie had fun hanging out front, watching the big kids play, and then watching the Levy twins, Skylar and Adrian, inside.
As usual, Chad and I had fun catching up with the grown-ups and we hated to leave. But, Chad and I were catching an early flight the next morning and we had to get the kids home and in bed. It was a school night for Lauren after all.
Luckily, we did manage to get a photo of the kids (minus Skylar and Adrian, who were already asleep). They are growing up so fast, and I want to take every opportunity to capture these awesome moments of their childhood.
And of course, with kids, multiple photos are a must...
Needless to say we are already looking forward to getting everyone back together next summer, during our annual beach trip!!
