An Anniversary and A Baptism!

This fall, we headed home for the weekend of September 10th, to celebrate Quinnie's baptism.  Aunt Sarah and Uncle Kevin wanted to have Pastor Patty baptize Mary Quinn and they decided to have it at the beach, in Ocean City.  So we hit the road and headed to the shore for a weekend of family and fun!

We arrived Friday night and spent Saturday afternoon at the Amish Market, in Delaware, to pick up some goodies for the post baptism lunch.  The kids had a blast playing on all of the playground equipment (they sell awesome playground sets and have them all assembled and ready to enjoy).

That evening Meemaw and Granpa watched the kids, so that Chad and I could go out to dinner for our 11 year anniversary.  We decided to take advantage of a kidless night and headed to the Red Roost for all-you-can-eat crabs.  It was delicious, and despite some dinner crashers (Grumpa, Grammy, and Uncle Ryan came and sat at the table directly behind ours), we had a great time.  After eating so many crabs, we were pretty full, but we went to EVO Brewhouse for an after dinner cocktail.  It was a great way to end the evening.

On Sunday morning, we all drove to Ocean City to celebrate Mary Quinn.  Pastor Patty started the service in her church, and then we all walked across the street, over the boardwalk, and down to the water.  It was a very nice service, made more special by the fact that Aunt Sarah and Uncle Kevin asked me and Kevin's brother, Patrick, to be godparents.  To say I am honored is an understatement.  Mary Quinn is a very special little girl and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for her.

After the service, we stuck around for a bit to take some photos and splash around in the water.  Lauren loved playing with Meemaw and Patrick!

Afterwards, we headed back to Aunt Sarah and Uncle Kevin's house for a celebratory lunch.  As usual there was a large spread of food and the kids had fun splashing around in the kiddie pool.  It was nice to see all of their friends and relax with the entire family!!

Sadly, we had to hit the road after the post-baptism lunch.  Lauren and Chad had to get back for school and work the next day.  These days, our trips home are going to be much shorter than we are used to.  Such is life when kids are in school full time,  So we keep looking forward to summer, when we can come visit for longer periods of time!
