As our Mother's Day gift to the grandmothers, we bought tickets to the show, and Saturday night, after dinner, we hit the road.
We arrived in NYC around midnight, checked into our hotel, and hit the sack. Lauren was especially excited to be on this girls trip, but she slept really well.
The next morning, we woke up, had some coffee/hot chocolate, and decided to walk around to take in some sights. There was a light drizzle, but it was so cute to see Lauren marching down those city streets with her umbrella. She was not fazed at all. After checking out Times Square and Rockefeller Center, we got a cab and headed to Serendipity 3 for lunch. That was Lauren's first NYC cab ride and she was so excited.
I, on the other hand, was very excited for lunch. Ever since watching the movie, Serendipity, I have always wanted to eat there. We ordered a frozen hot chocolate first, and it did not disappoint! We had a nice table by the window, which was nice for people watching. And when the rain began to pour down, it was nice to be inside and dry.

After lunch, it was time to for the show. We headed back to Radio City Music Hall and went inside. We even had an opportunity to meet and take a photo with one of the Rockettes. Lauren was in awe, and Grammy was apparently auditioning for a part! ha ha ha
We got to our seats, and soon the lights dimmed. Lauren was focused on the show the entire time. Eventually she crawled into my lap and I am not sure who said "wow" more. The show was awesome and everyone enjoyed it very much. There is really something magical about those kicklines!!
After the show, we walked a few blocks down to Central Park. Lauren loved climbing on all of the huge rocks, and we even found a nice little playground. But eventually, Lauren returned to rock climbing. We walked many blocks back to the hotel, with a nice quick stop at St. Patrick's, and it was time to head back home. We waved goodbye to the skyline, ate dinner at a NJ diner, and got home late that evening.
It was a SHORT trip, and there is still so much for us to see and do in NYC. I am already excited about a return trip with Chad, and I know he is anxious to take Lauren and Charlie to see some of the sights. So I know we will be back soon. Until then, we will remember this amazing girls trip!!
