A Great Few Days of Flower Fields, Star Wars, and Baseball!

Right before the Underinka Summer Invasion, Grammy and Grumpa came up to spend a few days getting everything ready.  But of course, we had to include some fun outings into the days.

On August 12th, we headed out to Burns Farm and picked some sunflowers.  It was miserably hot, but everyone was a trooper.  We even managed to get a few cute photos and some nice flowers,  It was also Aunt B's birthday, so we had to have a little fun with some of the pictures!!

The next day was a Saturday, so we all headed into DC to take in a National's Baseball game.  What Charlie did not know was that it was "Star Wars" night.  When we walked through the gates and saw the first of many characters, Charlie began to shake with excitement.  He could not stop screaming "Dur Rah", which is Star Wars in Charlie speak!!  And once it was our turn to pose for a photo, he kept trying to touch the characters.  He was not afraid and loved every minute of it.  We spent the rest of the game watching for characters, and letting Charlie touch them.

Lauren also enjoyed the night.  She had already seen the first 2 movies, so she was familiar with many of the characters.  She was very excited to see Chewie, the Storm Troopers, and R2D2.   And of course it goes without saying that the grownups were also very excited to see all of the characters!

Chad, Lauren, Grammy, and Grumpa went down to the seats to watch the game, while Charlie and I hung out inside, on the club level.  There was plenty of room for him to stretch out and move, there was AC (it was extremely hot out), and the game was on tvs throughout the level.  It worked out well, and I think everyone had a good time.  We will definitely have to do that again!
