This summer, Chad and I were trying to figure out what to do as a swimming option for our kids. The neighborhood does not have a community pool, so we had to find a membership somewhere else. The local country clubs all offered summer plans but they were a bit pricey when we did not know how much time we would actually spend at the pool.
Luckily, I remembered the waterpark we enjoyed last year. It is in Bull Run Park and about 15 minutes from our house. They offered a summer pass, which was substantially cheaper than the country clubs, and they had great options for younger kids. There was a kiddie pool, a nice shallow area in the bigger pool, and a fun water playground for running around. It was a no-brainer, and we went there many times a week. Lauren's swimming really improved. She now dives down under the water and can start to swim across the pool underwater. She also loves to practice somersaults and handstands!! Charlie continued to improve as well. He likes to jump into the pool and has gotten used to being dipped underwater, while turning back to the side.
It was a fun summer at the park, and we even managed to meet up with friends and family.
