Lauren at 6 Years Old!
Lauren is now 6 years old and we can't believe it. Time has certainly flown by too quickly.
Right now Lauren's stats are:
Weight: 43 pounds
Height: 46.2 inches
She has grown so much this past year, thanks to her experiences in Kindergarten and is truly turning into quite a little grownup!
Her schedule is as follows:
7:30 am - wake up
7:50 am - breakfast
8:20 am - bus picks her up for school
11:10 am - lunch
4:04 pm - bus drops her off from school
(Most afternoons she has an activity)
6:30 pm - dinner
7:30 pm - bedtime routine begins
7:45 - 8:00 pm - bedtime
As for her activities outside of school, right now Lauren is doing
Ice hockey - Monday evenings and Saturday mornings
Tennis - Tuesday evenings
Swim - Wednesday afternoons
She has also really taken an interest in Basketball. She loves to dribble the ball and see if Chad and I can take it away. Her hope is to learn how to dribble the basketball between her legs! She is not anxious to play on a team yet, but I have a feeling that might change in the near future.
She is also learning to ride a big kid bike, which she got for her birthday this year. She did really well on the balance bike, but it was so small and she was having a hard time getting her legs up and down. So Chad and I bought her a big bike (18 inch), and just took off the pedals so she could practice with it as a balance bike. She has gotten really good at balancing, but the bike is very heavy so we are going to keep letting her practice before putting the pedals back on. Her only requirement with the bike was that it was 'not girly" and "had a basket for Clark Bear to ride with her". The bike is black, with a white basket. Mission accomplished, and now we can hand it down to Charlie when he gets bigger!!
Lauren's favorite shows/movies are:
Star Wars
Transformers
Beauty & The Beast
Paw Patrol
Tangled
Super Wings
Tom & Jerry
Sing
The Lion Guard
Lauren's favorite songs are:
The Sing soundtrack (specifically My Way and I'm Still Standing)
Anything Pentatonix
Beauty & The Beast soundtrack
The Hamilton soundtrack
The Lion Guard soundtrack
Lauren's favorite foods are:
PBJ (actually sunbutter due to so many peanut allergies at school)
Pringles
Ramon Noodles
Pepperoni Pizza
Green Grapes
Strawberry Yogurt
Chicken Pot Pie
Garlic Bread
Toast & Nutella
Lauren has excelled in school and we could not be happier with her Kindgergarten Teacher, Mrs. Trammell! She is firm and expects results. The children are taught to be quality students, to behave, and Lauren has come leaps and bounds in one year.
Now, Lauren has learned:
How to count to 100, by 1's, 5's, and 10's
Basic math skills (addition and some subtraction)
About the presidents (specifically Washington, Lincoln, Obama, and Trump). (As a side note, she has learnd a lot about Alexander Hamilton thanks to the musical's soundtrack)
Additionally, her coloring has really improved and she is doing well staying within the lines
Her writing has improved and she is now writing along a line, with finger spacing between words, and learning about planning ahead to fit her words. And she has begun reading via learning all of her required Kindergarten sight words. She loves to read with us, and I am so excited at the thought that she might become a little book worm like her mom!!
And finally, her favorite toys are:
Clark Bear...obviously!!
Her Paw Patrol characters
Transformers
Legos
Remote control cars
Hot Wheel cars/tracks
She has truly changed so much over the past year, and Chad and I are thrilled at the wonderful little human she has become. As you can see, the changes are noticeable, but perhaps the one thing that hasn't changed, for the best, is that Lauren is still the best big sister in the whole world. She loves Charlie. She plays with him, wrestles with him, giggles with him, hugs him, shares with him, and keeps him out of trouble. We are all so much better off with this amazing 6 year old in our life.
Happy Birthday sweet girl! We love you so much!!
