Lauren's Preschool Time Comes To An End

It is hard to believe, but Lauren's year at preschool has come to an end.  It seems like just yesterday she was posing in front of the school and nervous about what to expect at school.

This past year, it is amazing to watch how much Lauren has grown.  She really thrived in school and learned so much.  Not only did she learn the basics, her alphabet, counting to 100, the months, the days of the week, etc, but she also learned how to interact and behave in a classroom.  She made some good friends (Robbie, Brady, and Tucker) and enjoyed when she was picked to be the teacher's helper.  I didn't know how the year would go, but it more than exceeded our expectations.

At the end of the year, the school held a carnival for the kids and families.  Chad and I dropped Charlie off at daycare and spent the morning with Lauren.  It was a great setup and all three of us had a blast.

Lauren's last day of school was June 16th.  She was excited to say goodbye to everyone in her classroom and seems very psyched for Kindergarten.

For the second half of the year, Lauren had Ms. Walker and Ms. Alejandra as her teachers.  They had to fill in when Lauren's teacher, Ms. Michelle, left the school midyear.  It took a little work to figure out how best to distribute the extra classrooms, but the school and teachers did a great job.  Lauren loved all three of her teachers!!

We celebrated Lauren's last day of school with ice cream for lunch.  I took the kids to Effee's, the soft serve ice cream spot that our neighbors own.  It is one of our favorite spots, and both kids were really excited!!

After watching how much Lauren has changed in one year of preschool, I can't even begin to image how much she is going to change after a year of Kindergarten.  In preschool, she only went Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  In Kindergarten, she will be going full days, 5 days a week.  It is sure to be a big change for her, and while the first few weeks might be a little difficult, I am certain that she is going to thrive and do great!!
