Holy Cow, how on earth is Charlie 4 years old?!?!
Although he has grown so much over the past 4 years, I feel as though this past year, from 3 to 4, he has shown the biggest change. He has really increased his talking, is less shy, loves trying to do things independently, is mostly potty-trained (still waiting on poop), and most importantly, his number of time outs has greatly decreased. We still have major meltdowns, but not with the frequency as before!! Woo Hoo
Also, Charlie rocked his second visit to the dentist! He freaked out during his first visit, at 3.5 years old. However, this time, he sat in the chair and let them clean his teeth without any crying, fussing, or screaming. I was so proud of him. =)
Of course, he has changed physically as well.

Charlie really has grown up over the past year, and will be starting preschool and sports this fall. I am sure he will do great!
Also, he still seems to have some reflux issues. We addressed this with his pediatrician, who asked us to keep track of what foods might trigger the reflux. So far, we haven't seen anything in particular. Also, his doctor asked that we keep him calm and still while eating and shortly thereafter. Charlie has a hard time being still, so this has not been entirely easy. But we are working on it.
At his annual doctor's appointment, we also discussed the possibility of a sensory disorder. Charlie is very particular about textures, both in clothes and food. He also refuses to take liquid medicine, freaks out over loud noises (including my lovely singing), and will not poop on the potty. He is on the list to be evaluated but it is a long process in Virginia. Hopefully we will get some answers after an evaluation. His pediatrician did suggest that peer pressure and preschool could help with his behavior, so I am looking forward to fall!
Despite these minor issues, Charlie is doing great! He feels emotion 100%. So he is immediately angry (no build up), but he is also immediately loving. He is such a sweet boy and is not afraid to curl up for a cuddle, give huge hugs, and plant sloppy kisses on his family! I will never say no to a Charlie hug/kiss and I hope he never gets tired of handing them out!
We love you Charlie and are so proud of the boy you are becoming. We cannot wait to see what Year #4 brings!!
