Lauren's New Desk

As Lauren has gotten older, we realized that it would be nice to give her a space, in her bedroom, where she could go to get away from her younger brother or work on homework.  She has been asking for a desk for a while, and we finally decided it was time.

Lauren has 2 bedrooms, separated by double doors, and also has 2 closets.  I know, lucky, right?!?!  So Chad turned one of her closets into a desk.  It took a while to draft up a design and a few weekends of work.  He added shelves, recessed lights, a backsplash, and all of the necessary desk accessories.  It turned out so good!!

It didn't take long before the desk became a 7 year old mess, filled with legos, books, video games, hockey cards, and unfinished craft projects.  Lauren certainly enjoys her desk and we wouldn't have it any other way.  Well, for everyone that really knows me, I could do with the desk being a bit more organized, but I am working on that!  =)  Nowadays, Lauren spends a lot of "quiet" time up in her room.  She puts music on and sits at her desk, which allows mom some "quiet" time as well.  I would say this desk was a very good idea!!
