Well, we nearly went through an entire winter without a snow day. To say it was a boring winter, weather wise, was putting it mildly. If we did get any moisture, the weather was just warm enough to rain. Even the parents were hoping for a little glimpse of the white stuff.
Until March 21st!! That morning, we woke up to a couple inches of snow and a day off from school. The kids, and mom, were thrilled!
After pulling on layers of snow gear, we spent some time playing in the backyard. We built snowmen, threw snowballs, and played on a snow covered playground. Chad came home for lunch and even got to get in some fun.
That afternoon, we were invited over to the O'Shea's house for some sledding and S'mores. They have a great hill in their backyard, and so many of the bus stop kiddos were there to play together. It was a wonderful way to spend a snow day!!
Lauren was all about flying down the hill, but Charlie was a little more hesitant. However, after his first trip down, he quickly became more brave. After that, Lauren and Charlie spent a few hours going up and down that hill. I hopped around to keep from getting too cold.
After countless trips down the hill, the kids all took a break and roasted marshmallows over the fire pit. Nothing like some warm S'mores to finish off a cold day outside. It was a perfect afternoon!!
