Easter 2018

Man, it is already Easter time.  It seems like 2018 is just flying by.

This year, I volunteered to help the neighborhood social committee with the Easter Egg Hunt.  We met at one of the tot lots and put out hundreds of eggs.  They were organized by age.  Younger kids on one side of the playground, older kids on the other side.  Then, we brought waters, cookies, and other snacks for the kids to enjoy.

At precisely 2 pm, the kids lined up and after a quick countdown, they were off.  Every year, we are warned that the egg hunt begins right on time, and every year we have late families.  Luckily, the kids are very good at sharing the eggs, so all of the kids enjoyed baskets full of goodies.  Have I mentioned how much I love this neighborhood?!?!

Lauren decided to go to hockey practice (stick n shoot) instead of attending the hunt, but Charlie eagerly wanted to get some eggs.  I think he had a lot of fun.

As usual, for Easter weekend, we headed home to Salisbury.  We took the kids to the annual Egg Hunt at Rockawalkin Methodist Church.  This is a yearly favorite and it is so much fun to watch the kids enjoy the hunt, followed by a reading of the Easter Story.

Then we decorated eggs with Pastor Patty and her grandsons, had another egg hunt at Meemaw and Grandpa's house, and enjoyed a Falicroft family dinner.

This year, I purchased a spinning egg decorator and it was soooo much fun to use.  Everyone was able to get in on the fun, from Quinnie to the grownups.  We all took a turn decorating eggs with different colored stripes, and they turned out awesome!

The weekend flew by, as it always does, and while we were sad to leave our families, we were excited for spring to come.  Summer will be here before we know it.  But first, there will be a lot of hockey, swim classes, school, and birthdays posts.  Stay tuned!
