Lauren turned 7 this year and I still cannot believe how quickly the time has gone. I simply do not feel old enough to have a 7 year old daughter! ha ha ha
She had a great time celebrating. First, we celebrated with her hockey team, at one of her tournaments. 2 other players, Harry and Zach, have birthdays within a week of Lauren and why waste any opportunity to have cupcakes and celebrate?!?!
Then, we visited Lauren at her school to celebrate with her class. We had lunch and brought ice cream cups for everyone. Lauren was very excited to see us.
That evening, she opened up some of her birthday presents. She got a new ice hockey shooting tarp (for the garage), snap circuits, a sequin pillow, and a Nintendo DS
The following weekend, we had a small ice skating party for Lauren. At first, we told Lauren that she was not going to get a big party this year. She had a huge party last year and we want to start alternating years for big parties and small celebrations. But it didn't quite work out this year, so Lauren got another party. Really, it was the excuse to get Chad out of the house for a surprise 40th birthday party, but we figured Lauren should have a little fun as well!
After the ice skating, it was time to take the party back to our house. I had a bunch of Chad's friends waiting to surprise him and Lauren was ready to have some cake!
