Her Best Buds
In addition to her hockey buddies, Lauren is closest to two boys in our neighborhood. Sam lives a few doors down the street and Gideon lives next door. They routinely have play dates, after school! She also really likes spending time with Shanaya, who lives across the street. What a great group of kids!!
Other Things About Lauren:
These days, Lauren loves to run. She has to move all the time and has a lot of energy to expel after a long day at school. She is still a little shy, but enjoys being around kids and has a lot of fun during her play dates with our neighbors. She also loves a good laugh and has been trying her hand at telling jokes. She still has some work to do, but Chad and I get a giggle out of her efforts.
Lauren: Knock Knock
Us: Who's There?
Lauren: Ice Hockey
Us: Ice Hockey Who?
Lauren: I LOVE to play ice hockey. It is the best thing ever!
See?!?! ha ha ha
Also, Lauren does NOT like the heat. She has begun to get cranky when she is outside and sweaty. I guess it is a good thing she enjoys ice hockey so much.
Finally, Lauren is such a nice kid. We try to stress the importance of inclusion and being aware of other people's feelings. So far, it looks like our talks have worked. Her teacher, Mrs. Clyde, has told us that she plays with everyone and is a big helper with the other students. This makes me very happy!! Also, she is a very good big sister/big cousin. She looks out for Charlie and Quinnie and boy do they look up to her. I hope that they will always be close and look out for each other as they get older!
I cannot believe she is already 7 years old, but I am really enjoying this stage in her life. Here is to a great year and being shocked (again) when she turns 8 next year!!
